A self-catering holiday in Suffolk would not be complete without a stay in White Cottage. Be transported into a world of total relaxation as soon as you walk through the door – the owners have absolutely thought of everything. From a selection of board games and DVDs to a starter pack of herbs and spices – you truly will be able to rest and re-charge your batteries here. The cottage has been sympathetically modernised to cater for the 21st century holidaymaker, whilst also retaining many of the original features. The open plan sitting room/diner centres around the woodburning stove – whilst French doors at the end of the room flood the area with light. To the other side of the first floor, the kitchen is modern and efficient. Although cosy, you’ll find a washing machine, fridge, freezer, oven and plenty of utensils for cooking up a storm.
Upstairs, too, the thoughtfulness doesn’t stop. The master bedroom is instantly welcoming – with two cleverly designed built-in wardrobe’s and vanity area it is an ideal place to lay your head after days spent exploring the area. The twin room comes complete with a wall mounted TV – ideal for entertaining children.
The surrounding countryside is just waiting to be explored. With both a pub and café – Sweffling offers a step-back-in-time village atmosphere, whilst the market town of Framlingham and the coastal town of Aldeburgh are only a short drive by car (or pleasant cycle ride).

Sweffling is a small Suffolk village nestled neatly between Framlingham and Saxmundham. Complete with village pub and church it is utterly quaint and picturesque. Surrounded by rolling countryside, it is known for its' agricultural links in the area. The 'hut' acts as the village hall and was once an Army Sergeant's Mess Hall from World War I and was moved from Saxmundham to Sweffling after the conflicts had ceased. The village has access to a fantastic network of footpaths - whilst also being within a good driving distance of Suffolk's prettiest market towns and local attractions.
Thanks for the lovely gifts/cards on arrival and the cottage looked lovely, warm and cosy. We enjoyed a lovely Christmas lunch in the kitchen! We walked for around an hour each day using the local footpaths. Thanks again & best wishes.
New visitors to Suffolk. The cottage is a great base with easy access to the coast and the A12 for a trip to Flatford Mill (excellent guide) and Lavenham. Sutton Hoo is fascinating (another excellent guided tour). The cottage is stylish with a lovely country feel. The Crown at Gt Glemham is nearby and has a good menu. We've had a lovely time.
Lovely cosy and well equipped cottage. Great walks on the doorstep. Try The Crown at Gt Glemham for home cooked food and real ale. Juniper cafe at Rendham has a range of everyday items. Enjoy!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful and well equipped cottage with us! We've enjoyed lovely walks on the local footpaths and along the reed beds of the Coastal Trail. The countryside has never looked more beautiful. We'll return to London feeling revived.

Despite the predicted weather forecast we enjoyed a sunny week in Suffolk! The cottage has been sympathetically renovated and tastefully decorated and provided everything we needed for a really luxurious stay. Nice to have milk & Beer on arrival! We enjoyed many days out along the coast and also discovered a few more pretty villages. A great Holiday!
Cottage was stylish, immaculately clean, bed linen superb, we loved it and would love to return. The local guide and details were very professionally done,as was the whole cottage.
We have had a glorious 4 days here - the cottage was even better than the photos, immaculately clean and we loved the decor. Attention to detail and a very generous welcome pack. We've had sunshine and clouds but when the sun came out in the evening the garden was a eal suntrap. White Cottage delivers peace and quiet and is a great base for exploring beautiful countryside and quaint seaside towns and villages.
Lovely few days in a beautiful cottage, stylish and comfortable - spotlessly clean. Thank you for the wine etc a very personal touch.
Lovely cottage for a warm and sunny week in Suffolk. We enjoyed a visit to the local White Horse and its take-away beer. Have enjoyed local ambles, plus trips to Snape, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Framlingham & Orford. , where is was the perfect day for a boat trip around Havergate Island - would recommend subject to weather. We found plenty of dog friendly pubs/cafes. If you are visiting Aldeburgh and need anything for a dog, do try Wag & Bone on the High Street.
We have been very comfortable in this lovely cottage and t is such a lovely tranquil area. So glad this week with sunshine rather than the heavy rains of last week! Its a great location for getting out and about and as well as all the suggested locations we enjoyed a day in Ipswich with all the interesting buildings and waterfront. We have really enjoyed our week in Suffolk thank you for the great accommodation, Best wishes
What a beautiful cottage! Close to everything - it's a real gem of a location. Beautiful stunning walks around the footpaths, quiet as can be but a real adventure. Cottage has everything you need, neighbours are lovely, park is great for the kids. Visited Aldeburgh, Southwold beaches and went all through the villages and found some amazing spots. Popped to Coach and Horses for tea too - fish and chips is a must! Thanks again.
We had a very enjoyable stay in this beautifully appointed and decorated cottage. The kitchen was very well equipped. Owners guide very helpful, suggestions for places to buy logs would be useful.
Thank you for a lovely stay in your very pretty and comfortable cottage. We very much appreciated the welcome pack! The cottage is very well equipped with so many thoughtful extras. Sweffling is so peaceful and ideal for exploring both the coast and countryside. We found the explorer guides/walks very useful and loved the walks on the coast in the lovely weather. We also enjoyed Framlingham Castle. We had good meals at the Plough and Sail at Snape Maltings and The Table at Woodbridge.
We've had a great time here at White Cottage. We loved the cottage, the well equipped kitchen, lovely stone floor and cosy bedrooms! The White House at Sweffling was so welcoming and friendly. Visits to Aldeburgh, Southwold and Orford were all well worth it. We want to come back to walk the Suffolk Coastal Paths! PS: We loved the personalised card - many thanks.
