Framlingham is a small market town that is rich in history and heritage. There is a 12th Century curtain-walled castle where Mary Tudor was proclaimed Queen and historic Saint Michael's church. Framlingham College is an imposing mock-gothic building overlooking the Mere, a lake which is a haven for wildlife. Saxtead village which has its own pub – The Old Mill House, and English Heritage’s Saxtead Green Post Mill, which dates from the late 1500s, is still functioning and well worth a visit. Both are a short stroll from the farm. Aldeburgh, on the Suffolk Heritage Coast, is just fifteen miles away and other places to visit include the beautiful villages of Constable Country, Minsmere bird reserve and Snape Maltings. There are a number of cycle routes and walks in the area and there is a good range of shops and places to eat in the town.
These huts are absolutely beautiful, they give you everything you need, microwave, small bathroom, pull out sofa bed. It’s very spacious! The BBQ outside was perfect for the hot bank holiday as well, and all the charcoal you needed was provided. They are situated in a lovely remote patch of grass giving you lots of privacy! The location is a half an hours drive away from a lot of beaches, which is really handy. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be returning!
A lovely bucolic escape in a gorgeous shepherds hut. Tina was extremely helpful and gave us tips on local restaurants and walks.
Situated in a lovely tranquil spot, this shepherds hut is very clean, stylish and well-equipped. Would recommend to anyone wishing to get away from it all to somewhere quiet and comfortable. Tina was helpful and accommodating and made checking in super easy.
Tina was a great host, who visited us upon arrival. The hut was perfect for our post Xmas decompression session. And Fram was a charming town with lots to offer. Would love to come back, in the summer next time!
This is a fabulous place to stay. The hut is beautiful, the craftsmanship throughout is stunning and makes it a unique space. It has everything you need for a comfortable break away from everyday life. The log burner and insulation ensured that we were cosy on the cool autumn nights. A perfect location for exploring the coast and surrounding villages, a stay here is highly recommended!
I stayed here with a friend and had the loveliest time. We loved the log burner and fire-pit–wood for both was left for us in the hut. Not to mention, the fact that the bathroom is inside the hut! The cupboards were stocked with everything you need to cook a meal inside on the stove or on the fire. And although breakfast wasn’t included they left us fresh eggs, milk, and coffee. I highly recommend!
So peaceful and tranquil…a great place to get away and unwind for a few days. Spotlessly clean, the goodies on arrival were very welcoming. Highly recommended for a place to relax. Thank you to the hosts for a memorable short break.
