The village boast a popular pub which serves good food and drink all year round. The rolling countryside surrounds the village and there is also a wealth of foot paths just waiting to be explored. Bury St Edmunds is the old capital of England and today it remains a busy and beautiful market town with plenty to explore. Experience and enjoy the wealth of arts, heritage, and food on offer. If you love exploring local shops and restaurants then you’ll find a huge range of niche boutique shops, cafes, and award-winning restaurants within the town as well as national and international brands at the new shopping centre The `Arc'.
Whepstead is also ideally located for easy access to Newmarket and the famous Racecourse, historic Lavenham and Long Melford or even Cambridge.
Wonderful property, very well equipped with lovely touches. Totally enjoyed the holiday. Really appreciated how welcome our host made us.
Absolutely incredible. I would say it’s the best place we’ve stayed in the past 2 years. Reminded me how to be happy again.
Beautiful location in the Suffolk countryside yet only 15 minute drive to Bury St Edmunds. Lots of excellent dog friendly pubs nearby. Chill and relax in this beautiful cottage that is spotlessly clean and so very comfortable
The cottage is beautifully and tastefully furnished, the fire makes it super cosy. Wonderful night’s sleep on a superb bed. Everything was taken care of, even some toiletries in the bathroom. It is perfect for a quick break. We had a mother/ daughter weekend away. We didn’t want to go out to eat, it was fun just staying in and cooking, sitting by the fire and sipping some wine. We loved being surrounded by the animals, the dogs greeted us too and made us feel at home. Ian was very welcoming and answered any questions we had. He had the fire going when we arrived, we felt so welcome. I can highly recommend this cottage. Bury St. Edmunds is a cute town nearby and we also enjoyed a day at the local spa. Top weekend. Top ratings. What more can I say? Thank you Ian.
